First Annual MCMA Spring Fling Event

posted Apr 5, 2009 2:45 PM by Andrew Hargreave

On March 7, 2009, Midwest Christian Montessori Academy hosted the first ever “Spring Fling Dinner and Dance” at the Joseph and Sarah Levy Center.  This event exceeded expectations and was a HUGE success raising over $11,000!  We would like to thank all of the families in attendance and the generous support of the community in making this event so successful.

In attendance were Felix George, Steve Mikos and Faisal Rashid, trustees of DuPage Township.  Carol S. Penning, Bolingbrook Village Clerk, Gloria Murtaugh and Mary Lou Haske, both serving on the Romeoville/Bolingbrook community Service Council were also present.  Berko and Pauline Owusu, publishers of the newspaper, “African Spectrum,” gave testimony of the tremendous education that their daughters, now preparing for college, received from Mrs. Marilyn and Mrs. Karen.

Bolingbrook Mayor Roger C. Claar and DuPage Township Supervisor Bill Mayer, were to attend the event, but had to change plans last minute when the Bolingbrook High School girl’s basketball team made it to the state championship!  MCMA would like to congratulate Ariel Massengale, a former Montessori student, and her team for the great job they have done!

The fabulous dinner was catered by “Katering by Kristie” of Bolingbrook and music provided by “Better Than a Juke Box.”  MCMA would also like to thank all of the volunteers who worked so tirelessly to make this event a great success.
