Parent Teacher Organization

Our PTO contributes a great deal to our children’s learning experience.  We encourage you to get involved in our fund-raising programs and attend parent meetings.  The PTO assists with field trips and supporting our special events such as the Christmas program, fund-raisers, special guest performances, book fair, and our school picnic.

Volunteers are needed in many areas for school events. Please watch your Monday Morning News e-mail for scheduled events and updates.  A paper copy is always posted on the bulletin board outside the office.  We appreciate your help!

Each family is required to pay $25.00 in PTO dues once a year. An activity fee is also applied to each individual student: $55 for Early Childhood students and $80 for Elementary students, which helps to subsidize field trips, activities and special events. The field trip/activity fee charged to families does not cover the entire expense incurred.

Field Trips/Activities

Fees for trips and events are due at registration.  A permission card must be on file in the school office and fees paid for your child to participate.  We travel by walking, chartered bus, or parent vehicles.

Each child will need to wear a school T-shirt or sweatshirt on outside school field trips.  T-Shirts may be ordered at the beginning of the year.

Parent volunteers are usually welcome to accompany us on field trips, though in some situations this may not be possible. Our insurance requires that we keep a copy of all volunteers’ drivers’ licenses in our files. Siblings are invited to in-house events only.

Each class uses Remind for efficient parent-teacher communication. Get quick updates on what your student is working on in class, notified about upcoming school events, and even receive photos of your student actively engaged in work. We also encourage parents to use Remind to notify teachers of absences and early pick-ups.

We are using a computer program in the classroom called Freckle. With Freckle, your child has been able to practice Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science at his or her own ability level. If your student is absent, we encourage parents to allow time for additional out of class learning.

  1. Access the program online here using Google Chrome as your browser and select Student Sign-in at the top of the page.

  2. Access the program on an iPad with the free app. Download link below.

Your child will login using their first and last name as well as our class code.

Once they have logged in, it is important that this practice is done independently, without any help at home. If they are having difficulty with a concept, and the video tutorials on the site do not help, your child may either stop or go on to another section. This is important so that the information gathered from Freckle accurately paints a picture of your child's progress.
