Educating & Empowering

the WHOLE Child

Spirit, Soul & Body

Our aim is not to make children understand, and still less to force them to memorize, but to touch their imagination as to enthuse them to their innermost core.

Maria Montessori

Thank you for your continued support of Midwest Christian Montessori Academy. Working through the very unexpected school closure. This past March was a challenge, which our teachers handled very well, along with your cooperation.

Now as we approach the opening of the 2020-21 school year, it is obvious that the Covid-19 virus is still a significant threat to the safety of our students and staff. It is a high priority for us to educate your children in our school classroom environment, and also be mindful of the health and safety of all children and our staff.

The MCMA Board of Directors has approved a plan to open school with a five day a week attendance schedule. In keeping with state and local health guidelines, this plan will include limited class sizes, increased physical distancing, use of face masks when appropriate, increased monitoring of personal hygiene practices and increased cleaning schedules. Details of this plan are listed below..

To assist our staff with the daily requirements of additional cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, the kindergarten and elementary classes will end at 3:00pm, just a half hour earlier. In the event that the Covid-19 virus causes schools to close completely, our teachers will be ready to offer fully remote learning for the period determined by health officials.

This plan will continue to be monitored and reviewed by MCMA Staff & Administration and approved by the MCMA Board of Directors.  The plan may be edited as necessary when further guidelines are available from Illinois Department of Public Health (https://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19) and/or Illinois State Board of Education (https://www.isbe.net/Pages/covid19.aspx).  This is a fluid plan that will change based on the latest guidance from public health officials including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/index.html) and the Will County Health Department (https://willcountyhealth.org/coronavirus-information/).

Please know that we understand your child’s education includes many social and emotional learning opportunities, as well as academic. Our goal is to make your child’s educational experience

enriching, positive, and safe. Due to the limits of class sizes, confirmation of registration must be received by July 30th to secure your child’s place at MCMA.

We appreciate your partnership and support of MCMA. We will get through this together.
